The short answer
Compound interest is interest earned on both your original amount and the interest already added. With a starting amount P, monthly contribution M, monthly rate r, and n months, the final value is P·(1+r)ⁿ + M·(((1+r)ⁿ−1)÷r). For example, ₹1,00,000 plus ₹10,000/month at 12% for 10 years grows to about ₹24.2 lakh - of which roughly ₹11 lakh is interest.

What is compound interest?+
Interest calculated on your original amount plus all the interest already accumulated - so your money grows faster over time. This calculator compounds monthly.
Can I model a SIP with this?+
Yes. Set the initial amount to your lump sum (or 0), and the monthly addition to your SIP amount, to project how a systematic investment grows.
Is this investment advice?+
No - it's a math tool for projections. Returns aren't guaranteed; use realistic rates and talk to a financial advisor for decisions.
